November: Nostalgic November

Hi, everyone! In 2024, we’ll periodically give away the prompts for our monthly Cafe Analog’s friendly journaling challenge #caprojectme24 to add a bit of freshness and spontaneity! 😀

As we approach the end of 2024—with the cold winter looming on the horizon, November provides the perfect backdrop to reminisce and appreciate the moments that have defined our year, encouraging self-discovery and gratitude. It’s an excellent time to reflect and act as a curator of memories: which ones would you like to keep in your journal forever? Interestingly, they may not always be about good, fun, enjoyable memories. Maybe we also want to keep the challenging things we’ve managed to overcome or that have helped us grow because they remind us how strong we are or how lucky we are to have the people who love and support us.

Thus, our design prompt for this month is Nostalgic November!

Nostalgia is a complex emotion that is a comforting bridge to our past, allowing us to reflect on meaningful experiences that shape our identities and foster a profound sense of belonging. This month, we invite you to dive into your treasured memories through creative journal spreads that highlight a cherished piece of stationery, something that feels nostalgic when you look at it—be it a ticket from a memorable trip, a postcard from a longtime friend, a stamp from your most cherished artist, a stationery gift for yourself after a challenging time, or a note from a celebration.

What memory does this piece of stationery evoke, and why is it significant to you?

In retrospect, how has an experience in your past paved the way for a present you’re thankful for?

In what ways do you still carry pieces of your past into your present, and why? Do these pieces from the past support or hinder your growth? Why?

Reflect on one word to encapsulate your 2024. If 2024 can write a letter to you, and that one word is a message or a life lesson, what will the letter say?
