Baum-Kuchen – No.014 – Conversion – BK Original Tape

In the summer of 2019, Frido and Wakako visited Bauhaus’s original school building in Dessau. “I was inspired” is an understatement of how Wakako felt about our experience there. A place where so many of BK’s designs had and continue to have an influence. She spent her time sketching, writing, and documenting everything she saw, felt, and learned. It was a rich experience that challenged her to ask, “What does wabi-sabi meet Bauhaus?”

Conversion is pieced from Wakako’s journal pages to her time at Bauhaus.
