August: Lovely Layers

Hi, everyone! In 2024, we’ll periodically give away the prompts for our monthly Cafe Analog’s friendly journaling challenge #caprojectme24 to add a bit of freshness and spontaneity! 😀

After some super sunny days, we are now having some showers and cloudy days. The temperature went down in the evening and early morning, and autumn will knock on our door in a few weeks. This means we will add one more layer to our clothing: a scarf, a sweater, or a light cardigan…

Thus, the design prompt for this month is Lovely Layers!

This month, create a page in your journal where you layer your stationery items one on top of another! Maybe make a layer with several textured papers on top of one another, or you can also create layers with your stamp, such as having the stamp with light-colored ink at the bottom and the stamp with darker colors on top. What about layering your washi tape? Maybe create layers from colors or patterns that will go together? You can also layer with your PET tapes, choosing one tape as the background and another PET tape in the foreground.

As you create your page, consider which elements in your stationery capsule you usually use as background decorations and which are more prominent. As you play, look at various items that can be paired on top of one another easily—maybe you want to group these items together?
